תקציר העבודה

International terrorism is a well spoken phrase these days although a lot of people do not truly understand it.
Terror, in its different kinds, is a mean of action which is used for more than one hundred years. This paper will introduce the different branches and types of terror, investigate how it evolved with the generations, give perspective on terror as we know it nowadays and the ways have in our disposals to deal with terror, and will close with future hypothesis about where terror is heading.
The term terrorism is largely synonymous with "political violence" or the threat of violence, and refers to a strategy of using coordinated attacks that typically fall within the time, manner of conduct, and place commonly understood as unconventional warfare. Terror objectives are to change public opinion by intimidating and seeding fear in people minds in order to achieve a greater cause. Terror is usually used by non-governmental groups although it can be found used by governments in some cases. We can find various definitions for terrorism, some of them are as followed.
–         An act of terrorism is "the peacetime equivalent of a war crime." (The United Nations Office for Drug Control and Crime Prevention).
–         "the calculated use of unlawful violence or threat of unlawful violence to inculcate fear; intended to coerce or to intimidate governments or societies in the pursuit of goals that are generally political, religious, or ideological." (United States Department of Defense).
Terror was not always as we know it today and hear about it every day in the news. There are many cases of terrorism in history and it is impossible to discuss all of them in one essay, therefore I will show only few examples of terror in recent history. …
