Throughout the story "Cat in the Rain" by Ernest Hemingway, the readers discover the plot from several narrative perspectives. At first this is that of the main female character of the story, later it switches to the perspective of her husband, and, finally, one looks upon the narrative from the narrator's point of view. This helps us, in the first place, to understand the frustrations of the young wife, to see the indifference and lack of understanding of her husband through his reaction to his wife's behavior, and the way an outsider might see the events of that day as merely their receiving a cat from the hotel keeper. The end of the story shows the reaction of neither the wife nor the husband, while the conflict becomes partially resolved.
